| Rationale
The Exceptional Individual Admissions
Scheme (EIS) was introduced as a means of exercising discretionary criteria
in admitting a small number of polytechnic graduates to the Faculty of
Dentistry, starting from Academic Year 2007-2008. Applications
submitted through this route will be evaluated by the Selection Committee
on the basis of exceptional talent and achievement in addition to academic
excellence. Applicants (regardless of nationality)
must present an acceptable Diploma from a Polytechnic in Singapore but
eligibility will be subject to courses which your Diploma is accredited
for.
Application Process
You must first apply for admission to NUS and
pay the application fee through the Office of Admissions. The
application for admission under Category B is available at
http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/
You
must indicate Dentistry as one of your course choices. You will
then be issued with an Application Number when you successfully submit
an online application to the NUS Office of Admissions. Subsequently
when completing the special application form for submission to the Faculty
of Dentistry, you will be asked for your Application Number.
If you have not applied for admission
to NUS through the Office of Admissions, or if you have not indicated
Dentistry as one of your choices in your application, you cannot be considered
for Dentistry under EIS.
Deadlines
The special form with all required documents
for consideration under EIS must reached the Faculty by 31
March 2008 at the address shown below. Prior to this,
the formal NUS application for admission should have already been submitted
to the NUS Office of Admissions.
