Discipline of Dental Public Health


The Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, is moving towards the future to become “an institution of international distinction” with a mission to “improve oral health through academic excellence, high impact research, and quality clinical service.”  The Faculty of Dentistry is offering a full-time tenure-track position in the Discipline of Dental Public Health.

In addition to a strong commitment to the Faculties vision and mission, applicants for this position should have the following perquisites: (i) a basic degree in dentistry, (ii) a PhD in Dental Public Health or a PhD in Public Health (specializing in oral health), (iii) experience in teaching undergraduate dental students and mentoring post graduate students, (iv) experience as an independent principal investigator in research related to dental public health, (v) commitment to service including health care administration and health promotion.

The Dental Public Health staff at the Faculty are involved in teaching oral health promotion, cariology, community dental health, geriatrics, biostatistics, epidemiology, evidence based dentistry, caries preventive therapies, critical appraisal of scientific literature and dental care administration.  The primary areas of research of the Discipline of Dental Public Health include caries risk assessment, geriatric and quality of life.
