Orthodontics

The course in orthodontics will consist of lectures, laboratory techniques and clinical demonstrations during the third and fourth years. Syllabus: Study of growth and development of cranial, facial and oral structures; physiology of the stomatognathic system; physiology of tooth movement; classification, aetiology and diagnosis of malocclusion; case analysis; general principles of orthodontic therapy and the use of removable appliances with particular reference to general practice.

Clinical competencies of adequate standard must be completed before a candidate can sit for the Final Professional Examination.
