"Inspiration is two-way
process. When you inspire
people, they in turn inspire you. This award is a
recognition of those who have inspired me to keep on going.
I thank the Dean, Faculty and alumni for their support
and encouragement.”
Inspiring Mentor Awards
The Inspiring Mentor awards
was launched on the 11th July 2009 at the Shaw Foundation Alumni
House to recognize NUS faculty and administration staff members
who have made a difference to the lives of alumni during their
student days on campus. They are outstanding mentors and teachers
who have made exceptional impact on the alumni and have helped
change and influence the course of life of the alumni. These
inspiring mentors have all been nominated by NUS alumni for their
exemplary teaching and mentorship. The Inspiring Mentor Awards
was initiated by the NUS Alumni Advisory Board. At this inaugural
event, there were 15 faculty members from nine faculties and
one administrative staff member receiving the Awards.
This year, the Inspiring Mentor Award winner for the Faculty of
Dentistry is Prof Chew Chong Lin. He was selected after compelling
nominations from Faculty of Dentistry alumni were submitted to
the Faculty Selection panel.
