Anatomy

The course extends over the two semesters of the first year. The course includes embryology, histology and neurology. Lectures in embryology include general embryology, development of face, pharynx and special senses. Neurology lectures comprise a general survey of the nervous system, with special emphasis on cranial nerves. Lectures in histology covers the cellular structure and biology, primary tissues as well as a general study of the various systems. Regional anatomy and osteology is covered during the weekly tutorials. Detailed dissection of the head and neck as well as a dissection of the essential portions of the thorax abdomen and pelvis also form a part of the practical course anatomy.

Examination: The examination will comprise at least one three-hour written paper and such oral and practical examinations as the examiners may decide.
