Cariology

The Cariology module will be taught as a 12-week module in the first year. The module will span part of the 1st semester and part of the 2nd semester. The course will integrate the prevention and clinical aspects of caries, as well as the histo-pathology of caries. The epidemiology, aetiology, histopathogenesis, detection, control and prevention of caries will be covered.

In the first year, the module will include both lectures and practicals. Later, in third and fourth years, there will be tutorials and seminars.

Examination: This module will be examined in the Final Professional Examination in the fourth year in Preventive Dentistry I.
