Dental Materials

The course extends over two years, beginning in Year I to Year II. The syllabus covers general and specific properties of metals, the constitution of alloys, casting, heat-treatment, soldering, welding and electro-deposition. The properties and testing of gypsum products, impression materials, non-metallic denture base materials, waxes, cements, filling materials, porcelain and abrasives. The dental materials course is integrated with Operative Dentistry & Prosthodontics courses.

Examination: The examination will comprise one three-hour paper and such oral examination, as the examiners shall determine at the end of Year II.
