Microbiology

The course extends over two terms of the second year. The syllabus include an introduction to infection and immunity in the first term leads to systematic study of common pathogenic organisms. The course includes medical microbiology and virology, and covers the epidemiology, laboratory investigations and prophylaxis of the more important communicable diseases.

Examination: The examination will comprise one three-hour paper in Microbiology and Pathology, a practical examination and such oral examination as the examiners shall determine.
