| Faculty Congratulates the Centennial 2005 Dentistry Graduates | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
At an elaborate NUS Commencement Ceremony held on Thursday 7th July, 2005 at the NUS Cultural Center, Dentistry was represented by 1 PhD, 5 MSc, 12 MDS and 34 BDS graduates who received their academic scrolls from NUS, Pro-Chancellor Dr Cheong Siew Keong. The ceremony was also unique that only BDS were conferred. The others were from Medicine, Research and M Med programs and Dentistry, Research and MDS programs. The evening started with clips on Dentistry happenings shown on huge video screens of activities (Class of 2005) and Dentistry as a profession. The procession proper started at 8.00 pm. There was a sense of pride and anticipation as parents, well wishers and invited guests saw their loved ones and friends receive their scrolls. The Faculty staff was well represented on stage as this was a smaller commencement allowing more Dentistry staff to take part in the ceremony. Many of our past alumni also attended the ceremony. It ended with the valedictory address given by representative from Dentistry, Dr Tan Kian Meng (BDS). The highlight must be the photo-taking sessions of the graduands with parents, friends, staff and well wishes. Congratulations once again and a Warm Welcome to our Dental Fraternity.
