| Visit by Vietnam delegation to Dental Faculty. (March 1-5th ,2004.) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A team from the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology at Ho Chi Minh City (University of Medical Sciences) paid a five day study visit to Singapore. Led by Prof Hoang Tu Hung (Dean and Vice Director) and Vice Dean Dr Huynh Anh Lan, (Academic Affairs, Research and IR), they were here to study the dental faculty’s teaching, research and clinical areas including IT. Dean A/P Keson Tan is playing host to the visitors having established contacts with them in meetings involving the International Association for Dental Research (SEA) divisional meetings in which Prof Tan was the immediate past president. The visit is partly sponsored by the “Dentsply – NUS Dental Faculty” Visitor program. The visitors were shown the facilities and the administration of the teaching and research programs of the Faculty. The visit will also involve a courtesy call on the NUS IRO (International Relations Office) where they are keen to learn more on the programs for foreign students including the working and living conditions for overseas students. Highlights of the Dental curriculum were covered by VD (AA), A/P Grace Ong and Research by A/P Kelvin Foong (VD Research). A highlight of their visit is the demonstration on the virtual system of DENSIM conducted by Head of Restorative Dentistry, A/P Jennifer Neo. Besides the briefings and discussions,
the visitors also had the chance to observe Clinical work at the various
clinics. Faculty’s Implementation of the online Clinical Information
System (Dental Exact) was also highlighted to them by A/P SB Keng (Asst
Dean-Clinical Affairs).
