Faculty of Dentistry New Year 1 Students (Click to enlarge)

The faculty welcomed new students to the new academic year with the traditional welcome tea on Wednesday 24th July 2002. The function was held at the new level 4 auditorium at 5.30 pm. Dean Assoc Prof Keson Tan welcomed the new students to the dental family.

The many guests include the heads of pre-clinical departments, deans of some faculties, part time clinical teachers, former alumni and many well wishers. The Director of NUS ACR, CEO of NUH, and Directors of some dental companies were among the invited guests.

Dean Tan introduced the pre-clinical staff and part time clinical teachers while the Heads of the three dental departments, their respective academic staff.

The high tea was a sumptuous affair with food galore and drinks for all.

Following tea, the new first year dental students of year 2002 introduced themselves. Among this years batch were many talents ranging from state swimmer, junior golf champion with handicap 9 to representatives in RC controlled car competitions. Not to be outdone by their male counterparts there are many talented musicians among the female students. It was fun… time at the introduction with punts and comic impromptu sketches by the students. All in all, a wonderful time to get to know each other to end a successful evening.
