has been facilitated by the strong collaborations with leading national
and international centres and institutions.
Multidisciplinary
Research
There are active research collaborations with the Faculties of Engineering,
Medicine, Science and School of Computing. In addition, the Faculty collaborates
with the following institutes/centres:
- Institute
of Materials Research & Engineering (IMRE)
- National
University Medical Institutes (NUMI)
- Kent Ridge
Digital Labs
External
Institutions and Bodies
Collaborations with local institutions have been a core strategy in our
research push, These institutions are:

The computer-aided diagnostic system NUS TMDv1.1 (developed by Drs Adrian
Yap, Keson Tan* of the Faculty of Dentistry, Joxan Jaffar, Roland Yap
and Mr Jerry Hoe of the School of Computing) is the first computerized
tool to adopt the RDC/TMD standard. This is an advanced system for TMD
diagnosis and has been successfully integrated into both national TMD
clinics in Singapore. A/P Adrian Yap and A/P Keson Tan are working with
an international consortium for research in TMD. The main centre is at
University of Washington, with collaboration from other centers in the
US, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Israel and Australia.
Note: A/Prof Keson Tan was
appointed to the Steering Committee of the consortium.
