The Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore
invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty
position in the discipline of Periodontology in
the Department of Preventive
Dentistry.
The staff in the discipline of Periodntology, within
the department are committed to excellence in teaching,
research and clinical care. Teaching in both the undergraduate
periodontology course and in the Graduate Periodontology
Residency Programme forms a major portion of the educational
responsibilities. Research in Periodontology, in the
department, is multi-disciplinary and collaborative involving
microbiology, biological sciences, medical clinical departments.
Staff are currently involved in periodontal medicine,
microbiological and epidemiology research. Staff hold
joint clinical appointments in the National University
Hospital, and focus on providing high quality clinical
care in periodontics and implant dentistry.
The Faculty of Dentistry has dedicated excellent teaching,
research and clinical facilities and taps on collaborative
resources to further its mission in teaching, research
and clinical care.
The Department is looking for outstanding applicants
who possess the following requirements: (i) an approved
basic degree in Dentistry, (ii) a recognized qualification
in Periodontology from a formal graduate Periodontology
training programme with clinical experience in a wide
range of periodontal procedures including Implant dentistry
(iii) a high quality track record as an independent Principal
Investigator in research areas related to Periodontology.
All faculty members are expected to teach in the undergraduate
and graduate Periodontology courses, supervise graduate
students, and conduct Independent research.
Besides appointments on normal 3-year contracts, visiting
professorial appointments for one or two years may also
be considered.
