The Award, given once every two years, was initiated in 1993 to recognize academic staffs' contribution to excellence in teaching. Voted by students, the award goes to the top two full-time teachers who excelled at teaching for the academic year. This year's recipients of the Award are Dr Grace Ong and Dr Kelvin Foong. To give away the award was Professor Chong Chi Tat, our Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Past winners of this award were Associate Professor Ho Kee Hai (a two-time winner), Dr Keson Tan and Dr Loh Poey Ling. For Dr Ong and Dr Foong, this award came as a pleasant surprise. Many students say that both teachers are very approachable, that they stimulate the students' minds, and are ready to guide and help. Certainly, this award recognises and affirms the high teaching standards and the quality dental education in the Faculty of Dentistry.
