Promotions

The Faculty of Dentistry congratulates Dr Loh Poey Ling and Dr Adrian Yap on their recent promotions to Senior Lectureship w.e.f. 1 July 1997.

New Staff - A Warm Welcome

Two full-time staff have been added to the Faculty. Joining the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial surgery is Dr Winston Tan, a graduate from NUS in 1992. He completed his professional training in Oral Surgery and obtained the MDS (Singapore) in 1997. He also obtained the FRACDS in 1996.

The Department of Preventive Dentistry welcomes Dr Stephen Hsu, who graduated with a DDS in 1987 from Taiwan. In the initial years after graduation, he completed a combined 2-year programme in General Practice Residency/Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Taipei. Soon after, he pursued his professional training in Paedodontics at the University of Iowa and obtained the MS and Certificate in 1992. In 1996, he was awarded a second certificate in Dental Public Health from the University of Iowa. Not one to rest on his laurels, he secured his Ph.D (Iowa) recently in August 1997. At NUS, Dr Hsu will be teaching Preventive Dentistry and Dental Public Health.

21st Asia-Pacific Dental Congress in April 1999

Faculty of Dentistry 70th Anniversery Celebrations in September 1999

Make a mark in your diary or in a prominent spot! Two important events will happen. In the month of April 1999, the Singapore Dental Association will be hosting the 21st Asia-Pacific Dental Congress at Suntec City. Many Faculty members have offered their assistance in various committees. Organising Chairman, Associate Professor Ho Kee Hai promises an exciting and educationally rewarding experience. In the later part of that year, the Faculty will celebrate 70 years of Dental Education in Singapore, and what a celebration it promises to be! To all alumni, spread the news around; start gathering your classmates for a great reunion.
