Queenstown Oral Health Screening

The Faculty of Dentistry (FOD) and National University Hospital (NUH) University Dental Cluster (UDC) conducted a dental screening on 19 November 2017, Sunday, at Queenstown Community Centre (CC). It was held as part of the Queenstown Health Screening cum Mini-Health Carnival 2017 organised by the National University Health System Regional Health System (NUHS RHS). The community event aimed to raise overall health (including oral health) awareness amongst residents of the Queenstown and Leng Kee CC. Held from 8.30am to 11.30am, the event attracted close to 130 participants, with around 40 participants taking part in the oral health screening. Besides an oral health examination, our dental team also provided the participants with oral health advice specific to their treatment needs. An exhibition on oral health education and the development of the upcoming National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS) was also held on-site, and remained open to the public for a week after the event.

The Queenstown Oral Health Screening was an inaugural collaboration between FOD-UDC and NUHS RHS. We would like to thank all staff members who volunteered for the event and helped make this community event a successful one.
