Associate Professor Catherine Hong
Dr Catherine HL Hong, BDS, MS (Pediatric Dentistry), Cert. (Oral Medicine), is Associate Professor, Programme Director of the Paediatric Dentistry Residency Training Programme and Assistant Dean of Education (Undergraduate Education) at the Faculty of Dentistry in NUS. She received her Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2003 and Certificate Oral Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte in 2006. She is a diplomate of both the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and the American Board of Oral Medicine. She serves as an examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the Dental Specialists Accreditation Board, Singapore. In addition to patient care, Dr. Hong is actively involved in clinical research studies pertaining to oral complications in cancer patients and the role of oral microbiome in cancer therapy induced oral mucositis.
Associate Programme Director
Dr Chay Pui Ling
Dr Chay Pui Ling graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007 from the National University of Singapore, and gathered numerous academic awards along the way. She then completed her postgraduate paediatric dentistry training in 2012, and obtained the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) from The University of Melbourne.
She is currently Head and Consultant with KK Women's and Children's Hospital's Dental Service, and Cleft and Cleft & Craniofacial Dentistry Unit. She provides preventive and therapeutic dental care for infants, children and adolescents. This includes working closely with the medical team to manage children with medical conditions, special needs, and dental trauma.
Programme Associate Director
Dr Eu Oy Chu
Dr Eu Oy Chu graduated from the National University of Singapore, Dental Faculty in 1980 and obtained her Master of Science in Children’s Dentistry from the University of London in 1988. She has more than thirty years’ experience in dental healthcare, ranging from direct patient care mainly in the outpatient setting to dental health promotion programme development in the Training Health Education Unit.
She currently holds the post of Senior Deputy Director (SDD) in the School Dental Service. She administers the School Dental Service, which operates about 200 school dental clinics, 30 mobile dental clinics and the School Dental Centre at Health Promotion Board. With a team of over 270 staff, they are responsible for the promotion and delivery of oral care to the preschoolers as well as the primary and secondary school children in Singapore.
Dr Eu specialises in Children’s Dentistry. Her job also involves providing clinical consultation and dental treatment to preschoolers and children referred in to her by general dental practitioners and dental officers from the school dental clinics. To continually promote and create the awareness of children's dental health she has made presentations on her specialty to the dental professionals and to the public.

Dr Bien Lai
Dr Bien Lai graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2006 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). She was awarded the Ministry of Health (MOH) Overseas scholarship in 2008 to receive postgraduate training in the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, specialising in Paediatric Dentistry. She graduated with a Master of Science (Pediatric Dentistry) in 2011 and completed her American Board certification in 2012. She has since obtained her specialist accreditation in Singapore in 2014 and is appointed as the Associate Programme Director of the NUS Paediatric Dentistry Post-graduate programme. She is currently Consultant and Head of Paediatric Dentistry unit in the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS).

Dr Rashid Tahir
Dr Rashid Tahir graduated with BDS (Singapore) in 1994 and MSc (Distinction) in Children’s Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute, London in 1998. He is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore and was Visiting Consultant Paediatric Dentist at the Cleft & Craniofacial Centre of Kandang Kerbau Women’s & Children’s Hospital. He is the President of the Pediatric Dentistry Association of Asia and the President of the Society for Paediatric Dentistry Singapore. He serves as a member of the Dental Specialists Accreditation Board and was previously Chair of the Dental Specialist Assessment Committee for Paediatric Dentistry from 2008 to 2017. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry.
He maintains a private practice restricted to paediatric dentistry at The Kids Dentist located at Camden Medical Centre, Singapore.
