Visit by Sunstar Singapore Pte Ltd – 20 September 2016

 

Mr Yoshihiro Kaneda, CEO, Sunstar Group and his team visited Faculty of Dentistry on 20 September 2016.    Sunstar Singapore Pte Ltd pledged a non-endowed gift of S$100,000 to the National University of Singapore to provide seed funding for research in the Faculty of Dentistry. The seed funding would support research in the areas of:

1.      oral-systemic health links
2.      geriatric dentistry and nutrition
3.      prevention of oral diseases

The ceremony started off with an Opening Speech by Vice Dean (Research), AP Cao Tong, followed by Dr Tan Kai Soo’s research presentation on ‘Systemic Consequences of Poor Oral Health’. 

Dean, Professor Allen, later presented a letter of appreciation and gift to Sunstar for their generous donation.  The visitors also took the opportunity to tour the research facilities in the DSO building.

The Faculty appreciates Sunstar’s contribution towards research. Their generosity has indeed inspired us to strive for the best in enhancing the delivery of oral health care and driving new breakthroughs in dentistry.
