WellNUS Festival 2022 with Dentistry

Ensuring students’ well-being has always been a priority at the Faculty of Dentistry. Together with our NUS Office of Student Affairs (OSA) partners, the Faculty held a series of wellness workshops for our students in October 2022.

The workshops offered various engaging activities to allow students to indulge in their creativity and relieve stress. Organised in conjunction with the wider WellNUS Festival 2022, students were invited to attend workshops ranging from stamp carving and scented candle creation to basic crochet stitching.

In the hand stamp workshop, ‘Carving Your Stress Away’, participants learnt how to engrave their stamp designs on blocks of rubber as well as chisel their blocks with specialised tools. Attendees of the ‘Gel Scented Candle’ workshop were taught how to measure and melt the wax and mix scents. Participants of the ‘Crochet Basics’ workshop were introduced to common crochet stitching techniques such as the back stitch, single crochet stitch and double crochet stitch.

The workshops, especially the stamp carving session, were enjoyable! They really helped to take my mind off the daily stress I faced. Thank you to the Faculty and OSA for organising these workshops for us. I am already looking forward to the next series!” shared Wang Kang Rui, a second-year undergraduate.
