The Centre for Advanced Dental Education (CADE) leverages on SkillsFuture Singapore(SSG) funding to provide quality continuing education training to Oral Health Practitioners in Singapore. SSG is a statutory board under the Ministry of Education that aims to provide Singaporeans and Permanent Residents with the opportunities to develop their fullest potential throughout life, regardless of their starting points.
For a start, CADE is pleased to offer four specially curated workshops for Oral Health Practitioners to upskill and hone their clinical acumen; one workshop is on communications and behavioural management and three workshops on restorative dentistry namely, endodontics, prosthodontics and geriatric dentistry.

Restorative Workshop Series 1Management of Deep Caries - Vital Pulp Therapy or Root Canal Treatment (Classroom and Practical Training)Traditionally, clinicians are familiar with full pulpectomy and root canal treatment as the first-line option for managing pulp which is deemed irreversibly inflamed. In recent years, vital pulp therapy in mature teeth has been re-examined with renewed interest and is gaining traction. It is, therefore, meaningful to review and consider this potentially conservative approach as part of our daily practice Saturday, 26 April 2025 |

Workshop on Orofacial PainUnderstanding Orofacial Pain(This is a pre-requisite course for the SSG Course on Managing orofacial pain is often difficult due to the limited understanding of the subject. Simultaneously, the developments in associated fields during the last 20 to 30 years are isolated and not well-researched, making it a confusing topic. With the current understanding of orofacial pain, a comprehensive presentation will equip course participants with the working knowledge of the basic and clinical science of general and orofacial pain. This allows participants to develop competency in performing a thorough assessment of patients, including history taking and physical examination, recognising the related co-morbidities and formulating a management plan. Restorative Workshop Series 3 (2nd Run)Managing Challenging Cases in Elderly PatientsThe prevalence of root caries has been shown to increase with age. Such cervical lesions are not easy to manage due to their location and proximity to the gingiva, making it challenging for preventive and restorative access. Many of the elderly patients also rely on removable prostheses to replace their missing teeth and restore their function. Careful considerations must be placed on the fabrication of dentures to ensure patient comfort and acceptance. Saturday, 29 June 2024 |
