data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p align=\"justify\">The National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Dentistry celebrated its 90th anniversary with a Gala Dinner at the Suntec Convention Center on 31 August 2019. Over 470 alumni, faculty, students and supporters came together to commemorate the Faculty\u2019s journey since its beginning as a Department of Dentistry within the King Edward VII College of Medicine in 1929. Among the guests were the Minister for Education, Mr. Ong Ye Kung, Chief Executive of the National University Health System Professor John Eu-Li Wong, NUS President, Professor Tan Eng Chye.\u00a0<\/p><p>Dean, Faculty of Dentistry,\u00a0Professor Patrick Finbarr Allen\u00a0delivered\u00a0the welcome address, thanking guests\u00a0for\u00a0their contributions and continued support to the Faculty.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cWe are very fortunate to have the contribution and support of many who give generously of their time to train future generations of dentists.\u00a0There is an unbroken line going back many generations of caring dentists contributing back to the Faculty by our alumni, and for this,\u00a0we are very grateful,\u201d shared Professor\u00a0Allen.<\/p><p>The Dinner was the Faculty\u2019s capstone activity for the year, rounding off events such as the\u00a0Oral Health Awareness Roadshow\u00a0in March and the official opening of the Faculty\u2019s new campus at the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS) in July.<\/p><p>Guests were\u00a0treated to\u00a0a dance\u00a0by the Faculty\u2019s first-year students\u00a0who had\u00a0recently\u00a0clinched the coveted NUS Students\u2019 Union (NUSSU) Rag &amp; Flag 2019 Gold Award.
