SUMMARY:[SSG] Restorative Workshop Series 1: Management of Deep Caries – Vital Pulp Therapy or Root Canal Treatment (Classroom and Practical Training)
DESCRIPTION:Date & Time:\n26 April 2025\, 9.00am – 6.00pm \n\n\nVenue:\nNUS Dentistry L9 Auditorium & Simulation Lab\, New Course \n\n\nEvent Type:\nSSG Funded Workshops \n\n\nTarget Audience:\nGeneral Dentists \n\n\nTrainer / Instructor:\nDr Wataru Ode \n\n\nCPE Points:\n8 \n\n\nFlyer:\nView PDF \n\n\nOrganised by:\nNUS Centre for Advanced Dental Education \n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme Details:\nTraditionally\, clinicians are familiar with full pulpectomy and root canal treatment as the first-line option for managing pulp which is deemed irreversibly inflamed. In recent years\, vital pulp therapy in mature teeth has been re-examined with renewed interest and is gaining traction. It is\, therefore\, meaningful to review and consider this potentially conservative approach as part of our daily practice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Back

SUMMARY:Sharing Session – Mastication Matters: The Significance of Chewing in Aging
DESCRIPTION:Date:\n28 February 2025\n5:00pm – 7:00pm \n\n\nVenue:\nAuditorium (Level 9)\, NUS Faculty of Dentistry \n\n\nEvent Type:\nLecture/Sharing Session \n\n\nTarget Audience:\nGeneral Dental Practitioners \n\n\nTrainer / Instructor:\nProf Mats Trulsson \n\n\nFlyer:\nView PDF \n\n\n\n\nProgramme Details:\nChewing ability is a critical determinant of oral health and overall quality of life. Several physiological and anatomical parameters influence chewing function. Over the past few decades\, oral rehabilitation procedures have transitioned from removable to fixed prostheses. The dental implant\, innovated by Branemark and colleagues\, has revolutionized oral rehabilitation strategies. \nDental implants enhance the stability and retention of prostheses\, leading to higher patient satisfaction and improvements in oralhealth-related quality of life. However\, the question remains: do current rehabilitation strategies improve nutritional status and contribute to healthy aging? A compromised chewing function can affect swallowing and digestive processes\, reduce nutrient intake\, and potentially impact cognitive functions and frailty. This lecture will explore the significance of chewing in the elderly population\, highlighting the intricate relationships between oral functions and overall health. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n Back\n \n \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:Principles Of Flap Design in Regenerative Dental Surgery
DESCRIPTION:Date:\n18 January 2025\n8:00am – 12:30pm \n\n\nVenue:\nSeminar Room 10-5 (Level 10)\, NUS Faculty of Dentistry \n\n\nEvent Type:\nWorkshops \n\n\nTarget Audience:\nGeneral Dental Practitioners \n\n\nTrainer / Instructor:\nAssoc Prof Raymond Wong \n\n\nCPE Points:\n4 \n\n\nFlyer:\nView PDF \n\n\n\n\nProgramme Details:\nThis half-day workshop aims to provide participants with the latest information in regenerative dental surgery and hands-on practice on flap design. The demands of dental-related care are increasing with an ageing population in Singapore. MOH has announced in 2023 that community care shall be prioritized as our population ages. Along with this is the concomitant need for dental practitioners in the community to upskill and provide improving and sustainable outcomes for patients\, to reduce the overall healthcare cost and burden. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n Back\n \n \nRegister Now
