Over the years, the Faculty’s alumni giving initiatives have grown from strength to strength. In November 2022, alumni from the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Class of 2011) gathered to garner donations for our students. The Class Gift drive has brought in $12,370 as of 11 March 2023. The contributions will go primarily towards aiding needy students to ensure they can pursue a holistic education at the Faculty and fulfil their dreams of being a dentist, despite their financial backgrounds.

Alumni donors indicated that giving comes intuitively and naturally due to their love for the Faculty and their desire to pay it forward and contribute towards grooming future generations of dentists.

"I am grateful for the help from my peers, seniors and staff in the Faculty. The friendships continue to be an important part of my life even after I have graduated. By contributing a gift, we hope to be able to give back to our alma mater and groom future generations of dentists," said Dr Wong Kuan Yee.

"I benefited greatly from the teaching and guidance of the staff and seniors in the Faculty. It is only right to contribute back to the faculty to help it continue its good work in educating future generations of dentists,” added Dr Chan Boon Hui.

"Our time at the Faculty prepared us so well for our careers and life in general. Through our gifts, we hope to ensure that no student is left behind due to financial constraints," shared Dr Matthew Sng.

As Mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. Our alumni’s support has enabled the Faculty to further our goal to provide a quality educational experience to students and advance dentistry practice in Singapore and around the world. We aspire to continue serving our students, impacting their lives, and empowering their dreams as one big community.
