In line with the continued commitment to fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange, the NUS Faculty of Dentistry hosted a visit by the Universiti Malaya’s Faculty of Dentistry, where students and faculty staff were invited to share their expertise and learn from their global peers.
On 18 and 19 September 2023, NUS Faculty of Dentistry warmly welcomed faculty staff and students from the Universiti Malaya’s Faculty of Dentistry for a visit. The engaging programme commenced with a warm welcome and an enlightening overview of NUS Dentistry by Vice Dean (Academic Affairs), Associate Professor Wong Mun Loke. This was followed by an immersive tour of NUS Dentistry’s state-of-the-art facilities, a lecture on the significance of preventive dentistry, and a gathering with student representatives from the Dental Club.

The visit provided both universities with a unique opportunity to foster cross-cultural exchanges, share educational insights, and strengthen dental education networks, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the dental profession in the region.

“The visit serves as a platform for the Universiti Malaya (UM) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to strengthen our connections and exchange knowledge about our educational approaches. The experience provided valuable insights into the Faculty's holistic programmes, curriculum, and state-of-the-art facilities. These, together with the dedication of faculty staff and students, are essential ingredients for educational excellence. We look forward to applying some of our learnings back at UM,” shared Dr Adyani Azizah, Senior Lecturer at UM.

The opportunity to engage with the esteemed faculty members in person was not only motivating but delightful. These interactions undoubtedly fostered a stronger connection between UM and NUS Dentistry," said first-year student at UM, Ms Chan Hui Yin.

During our visit, we learned more about NUS Dentistry's comprehensive curriculum and cutting-edge facilities.
