Attachment Opportunities

The Faculty of Dentistry welcomes dental graduates who are interested in a short attachment for first-hand experience of the postgraduate clinical residency training programme may apply for a Clinical Attachment.

Information about the Clinical Attachment Scheme:

  1. This scheme applies to requests for attachment to Postgraduate MDS Residency Training Programmes and ONLY for Graduates. For undergraduates, please refer to http://www.dentistry.nus.edu.sg/Education/Elective.html

  2. Attachment is subject to Programme Director’s approval and receipt of full payment of attachment fees. Period of attachment is up to a maximum of 3 weeks. Faculty will not be able to entertain requests during the Examination (in May) period and during term vacations. Dean’s Office will inform applicant if request is successful. Please send us your BDS certificate as proof of your status as a graduate.  

  3. There will be NO HANDS ON EXPERIENCE in the clinics. Successful applicants will only be allowed to observe. Attachment will only be conducted in the National University Hospital teaching clinics.

  4. Walk in applications will not be considered. Request to be sent via post or email at least 3 weeks prior to proposed period of attachment.

Attachment Fees:

The following fees (excluding prevailing 9% GST) will be applicable for the clinical attachment.

Administrative Fee:
(non-refundable)		 S$ 50.00
(for Singaporean/Singapore Permanent Citizens)
S$ 150.00 (for International students)
Attachment Fees: S$150.00 per day, charges will be based on actual attachment period


Payment can be made via Paynow (for Singaporean/Singapore Permanent Residents) or Telegraphich Transfer (for International Students). The Faculty reserves the right to revise the fees. A confirmation letter will be sent to successful applicants. Please make payment upon receipt of the confirmation letter.
