Education

Undergraduate

The Faculty of Dentistry offers a comprehensive four-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme, recognised by the Singapore Dental Council for registration to practise in Singapore. This programme is divided into two phases: the pre-clinical years (Years 1 and 2) and the clinical years (Years 3 and 4).

In the pre-clinical phase, students build foundational knowledge in basic and dental sciences, participate in interprofessional learning through the Common Curriculum for Health Professional Education, and engage in hands-on simulation and laboratory training. The clinical phase focuses on patient care, with undergraduates providing comprehensive dental treatments across all age groups under close supervision. Clinical training also integrates key aspects of Medicine, Surgery, and Paediatrics. High-performing students may be eligible for the BDS (Honours) degree.
